Bring Out the Inner Picasso in Your Pet!

Welcome to Pet-Casso 2021 -- the gallery is open! We are pleased to present artwork from Chatham County's best and brightest cats and dogs. Visit the Gallery page, click on an artist, and admire the creativity and expression that comes through in their abstract "pawprints." Then vote for your favorite with a minimum $10 donation. The artist with the highest donation total wins!

Your donation supports the cats and dogs in Chatham County through CARE's many programs including spay/neuter, fostering, education and more. Learn more about how your donation will help.

To enter your pet's masterpiece in Pet-Casso, click the Register button. You'll register on behalf of your pet (use their first name as your first name) and will then customize their personal fundraising page. That's your home for collecting votes (donations) from family and friends. Your page will include an intro about your artist, a photo of them, and a photo of the artwork they created. You'll upload your pet's images to a photo gallery on their fundraising page. Easy-to-follow instructions are available on your fundraising page.

About CARE

The mission of Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) is to promote the health and safety of all dogs and cats in Chatham County, NC.  CARE is a volunteer-based, donor-funded, 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue organization that has served the community since 1975. CARE works with the Chatham County Animal Shelter to save the lives of unwanted cats and dogs, manages feral cat colonies, offers spay/neuter vouchers to lower income families, and serves as an educational resource.

CARE foster caregivers provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and dogs, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families.  In 2020, CARE was able to take in and find homes for more than 179 dogs and cats, most of whom would otherwise have been euthanized without the dedicated help of our donors and volunteers.

CARE’s Lillie's Fund is a targeted spay/neuter program, subsidizing sterilization surgeries for pets owned by lower income families in Chatham County.  In 2020, CARE faciliated the spay or neuter of 613 dogs and cats. All of this would not be possible without the generosity of donors like you!
