As many of you know, I have a tremendous love and compassion for animals. I started volunteering at Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC)  back in December 2021, and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!  It has also been really eye-opening to see everything HSC does to help animals in the community. They are an amazing non-profit organization and are so much more than just an animal shelter. 

This will be my first time volunteering at Pet Palooza, HSC's annual fundraising walk and festival. It is also my first fundraising campaign for HSC, and I'm so excited to help them reach their goal! 

The dog in the photo above my name is Kevin, a 9 year old German Shephard mix that has stolen my heart!  Kevin is a gentle giant with the most kind and beautiful soul. He was rescued from a bad hoarding situation and has come such a long way in the few months he has been at the shelter thanks to all of the love and care from the HSC staff and volunteers. Unfortunatley, Kevin had to be removed from the adoptable dogs list while being treated for a severe ear infection in both ears due to years of neglect and untreated ear infections. He has been on a few rounds of various antibiotics with no success and may have to have expensvie surgery. Small donations of even $5 and $10 can easily add up to help pay for these kinds of medical expenses.
