On April 13th 2021 I went to the Charlotte Humane Society to look at a couple dogs. I was kind of bummed out because the dog I had picked out had gotten adopted over the weekend. I did my research and made a list of the dogs they had that I thought would be a good fit. Because of Covid you had to make an appointment and was only allowed to see a limited amount of dogs. As I was being walked back I saw Willow. Her stunning blue eyes locked in on me. I knew I hadn't seen her listed. I saw a few other dogs but they mostly ignored me for the toys. I was down to getting to see one more and I requested to meet Willow. She immediately ran to me and I quickly decided she was my dog. I then found out that she is deaf and has been at the shelter twice. She has brought so much joy to our house. It hasn't always been easy but it has been worth it. I will always get my pets from the humane society. Every animal deserves to have a loving forever home. The work they do saves so many lives but that comes with a cost. Many of these animals haven't had any previous vet care, need to be spayed/neutered and need heartworm treatment. Please consider helping because every bit helps.
