The SPCA’s PAWS FOR LOVE program brings furry (and feathered!) friends to spread joy and comfort across the western New York area.
Our 280+ dedicated pet owners volunteer with their gentle pets and while most teams include dogs and cats, we also have some delightfully unexpected members—like a cockatoo, guinea pig, and even a charming little duck!
Paws for Love visits hundreds of locations including P-12 schools,universities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Niagara County, Erie County, and State Supreme courts, group homes, hospices, libraries, crisis services, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, children’s facilities, and the Buffalo/Niagara International Airport.
Paws for Love teams also respond to unforseen emergent events with compassionate kindness that only the unconditional love of a therapy animal can provide.
Paws for Love is unlike any other program offered by the SPCA. For thousands of adults and children each year, visits from our faithful, furry and feathered friends often add entirely new dimensions to people’s lives.
