I am excited to share that I am participating in Play4JA. This event is helping raise money for K-12 students in Junior Achievement (JA) who receive critical financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurial lessons delivered by business and community role models.
Junior Achievement (JA) provides these programs at no cost to schools or families thanks to the generosity of donors, so when you make a gift you know that you are making a difference.
Students in JA receive the knowledge and tools that prepare them for a successful career and life. As a result of JA programs, they are more optimistic, driven, and engaged in their learning. Students from less fortunate backgrounds make leaps and bounds in their learning thanks to JA and gain role models they may not have otherwise had access to.
Comment from Leigh Ann: JA hosts a financial university which is an amazing thing – I volunteered there last year. It is like a little town – each kid is giving a “career” and salary when then enter the town and they have to figure out how to budget groceries, gas, rent etc. Then they are giving a different career and repeat the process. I felt it gave the kids insight on budgets, the reality of living, and potential thoughts on career paths.
