On April 24, I am participating in the Virtual Pet Palooza Walk for the Animals representing and benefiting the Humane Society of Charlotte. I am thrilled to be celebrating 5 years with this amazing organization this year! They have given so much to the community and to my family, too.

In March of 2017, as I was helping to give a shelter tour, I looked over into one of the kennels and saw a sweet, sad face looking up at me. I knew I was bringing another dog home that day. Milah joined our family and has brought me so much happiness in the 4 years I've had her!

I also welcomed another baby into the family last year, Theo "Bean". I fostered him as a 5 week old kitten with his 4 siblings and mother who was still nursing them. We struck up an immediate bond and, lo and behold, he became a "foster fail". He turned 1 this year, and it has been an absolute joy to watch him grow up. He makes me laugh every single day!

I could not imagine life without these two, and it was made possible by the amazing folks at HSC.
