This past spring at a first trimester ultrasound, we learned that our daughter Esmée had Down syndrome. We were very excited to welcome her into our family and to be part of “the lucky few.” Sadly, it was discovered during an early anatomy scan that her heart stopped at about 16 weeks. She was born on May 14th. 

To honor her memory, we are participating in this year’s Puget Sound Buddy Walk. Our goal is to raise $1,017 since her due date was 10/17. 

EDIT: Since we reached our initial goal, we've upped our target amount to $2,130 (for the 21st chromosome x3). 

All funds go to the Down Syndrome Center of Puget Sound (DSC). The DSC's mission is to empower people with Down syndrome and their families through life-long learning and experiences, while building an accepting and inclusive society. Funds raised at the Puget Sound Buddy Walk allow them to continue to offer their many programs, therapies, resources, events, and initiatives, and to add more to meet the needs of their members.
