I'm racing for Abigail!

Abigail and I are racing 10 kilometers in support of girls' education. Any money we raise goes directly to Daraja Academy in Kenya and Abigail's education. Thank you for your help! Or, as they say in Kenya, ASANTE SANA!

Abigail's Story

Abigail is a 15 year old Turkana girl from the western part of Laikipia. She comes from a community where most families depend on small-scale farming and casual labour for survival. Poverty, drought, and limited access to clean water are common challenges. Abigail lives with her mother in a single-room house made out of iron sheets. She grew up in constant financial struggle and was often sent home from school due to the lack of school fees.

Despite these challenges, Abigail has remained committed to her education. In school, she was a class prefect and vice chairperson of the Amani club, showing strong leadership. Abigail loves drawing, playing handball and listening to music. She dreams of becoming a journalist and is passionate about TV and film production. To Abigail, Daraja is the place where she can become the changemaker she believes every woman can be.
