Welcome To Daraja

In Swahili, Daraja means “bridge.” Daraja provides a transformative, holistic secondary education for Kenyan girls who lack the financial resources to attend school, creating a bridge to empowerment, leadership, well-being, independence, and a lifetime of opportunity.

Daraja provides a safe place for girls who would otherwise have no access to high school education. It stands as a beacon of hope and possibility, where marginalized girls are empowered to grow into confident leaders. Through a rigorous academic program, students are prepared for the KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) national exams and future admission to college and university. At its core, Daraja is defined by a culture of peace, something that truly sets it apart from other schools.

About Race for Daraja

We invite you to join us to Race for Daraja! No matter where you live or how you move through the world, let’s come together to raise essential funds for Daraja. Register to run/walk/cycle/etc. a 10 kilometer race from your home, gym, treadmill, neighborhood, or local park.

• You will be paired with a Daraja girl in Kenya and race "together."
• You will get a customizable fundraising page with your Daraja partner's story. 
• Raise money for her future and earn badges along the way.
• Be part of our global village online using #Race4Daraja.
• Complete your 10 kilometer race by May 31st!
