Judith is a 15-year-old girl from Kwale County and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2027. She is always smiling and loves to make her classmates laugh. Her family lives in the bush, and the closest town is Kwale. Judith's grandfather chased her and the family away when they converted from being Muslims to Christians. Most people in Judith's village are small-scale farmers, while others burn and sell charcoal to earn a living. Judith walked to and from school every day, having to wake up at 4 a.m. to make it to primary school on time. She struggled with being sent home regularly due to the lack of school fees, school materials, and often could not complete schoolwork because of limited light at home. As a result, Judith had to depend on the moonlight to do her homework.
Judith wants to become a doctor and is very happy with her newfound family at Daraja. She looks up to her elder sister, who graduated with a diploma in nursing.
