Faith is a 15-year-old girl from Kikoko, Makueni County, and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2027. She lives with her parents and six siblings in a three-room house with a mud floor. Faith must retrieve water from a nearby river where the water is free. As the land around is very dry, most people are unable to farm and must earn their income as casual laborers. Her father digs shambas in the village, and her mother is a housemaid, neither of which is a permanent job. Often, she would go without both breakfast and lunch, and found it difficult to concentrate because of the constant feeling of hunger. She was frequently sent home because of unpaid school fees.
Faith enjoys being at Daraja because she is constantly excited to bring the skills she learns at school back home to help her community. In her leisure time, she loves playing football and netball. Faith's dream career is to become a pilot!
