Evalyne and I are racing 10 kilometers in support of girls' education. Any money we raise goes directly to Daraja Academy in Kenya and Evalyne's education. Thank you for your help! Or, as they say in Kenya, ASANTE SANA!
Evalyne is a 15-year-old Luo girl from Laikipia East and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2028. Evalyne lives with her parents and three younger brothers in a small stone house where space and resources are limited. As a result of financial struggles, Evalyne was often sent home from school due to unpaid fees, and she frequently attended classes on an empty stomach.
Despite these difficulties, she remained deeply committed to her education. At school, Evalyne showed strong leadership as both a class prefect and sports captain. In her free time, she enjoys running and playing volleyball. She also loves participating in debate club, because it builds her confidence and develops her critical thinking skills.
Evalyne dreams of becoming a lawyer so she can be a voice for women, especially for widows and the elderly. For Evalyne, Daraja means everything - a place where her dreams can grow.
