The Drew Crew will run (for the 4th year) in The Brigance Brigade Championship Race in honor of my father, Drew Miller, all others who have lost their lives to ALS, and those who continue to fight their courageous battle. My dad and I had the privilege of meeting Orenthial Brigance back in 2011. After meeting, the two remained close friends and remained in contact through e-mail with the use of their Dynavox Eye-Gaze devices. The Brigance Brigade 5.7K was created just 1 year after my father passed away. I know that he would be advocating and raising awareness for this incredible foundation and cheering on all the runners right from the sidelines. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Brigance Brigade Foundation. Their mission is to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS. The Brigance Brigade Foundation improves the quality of life for ALS patients and their families by providing access to much needed equipment, support services, and resource guidance.
