2020 Paws in the Park AmbassaDOG

Willow is a 5-year-old Pit Bull type dog adopted from Providence Animal Control in 2017. Once a stray, this special girl loves giving back to her community. Willow has her AKC Canine Good Citizen title, is a certified therapy dog with Paws From the Heart Pet Therapy, and works at TF Green airport as a PVD Pup.

Willow’s mom, Melisa, became a volunteer at Providence Animal Control (PAC) after adopting her. Now Willow volunteers too and has helped many shelter dogs through the years. Due to her calm and loving demeanor, she is considered a “neutral dog;” which basically means she is a great walking buddy for shelter pups who are stressed and a little reactive. Willow really is as sweet as she looks. Her family calls her “Silly Willie” as she can be so goofy, which makes her a perfect fit as a therapy dog, for people and other dogs!

Recently, Willow welcomed a foster dog from PAC named Ivy into her home. She has been busy teaching this fearful girl that the world is not such a scary place. They have been BFFs ever since and Ivy has now found a forever home with Willow and her family.

Willow is taking advantage of her second chance at life- every day is an adventure and her family could not be more proud of their sweet rescue girl. ?
