Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for visiting and being part of my team to run or walk or simply making a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County. This year’s Run for Club Kids will be virtual. That means that you can join me whether you are a runner or a walker because you have 1 month between October 1 and November 1, 2020 to finish any distance you are comfortable with – 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles) anywhere that’s close to you.

I am seeking your support to raise $2,000. Your donation will be totally tax-deductible. Those funds will enable: 

• One Club Kid to attend our after school program for one year or
• Two Club Kids to attend our summer camp for 5 weeks - $500 each or
• 20 Club Kids to attend a cooking, art, or sports program - $50 each

I have chosen to fundraise for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County because it is a lifesaver to kids in the Trenton area community. The Club empowers 2,600 kids annually to overcome tremendous challenges and reach new goals every day. It’s been providing life-enhancing programs after school, on weekends, over the summer, in-person and now virtually to those in the area who need it most. Recently I sat down with a couple of our teen members who told me that the Boys & Girls Clubs is a place of opportunities that they can call home. They come to the Club to play chess, dance and prepare for their future. Many go on to college. The most famous people who have come from the Boys & Girls Clubs around the country include Denzel Washington, JLo, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Now more than ever we need to raise funds to help these kids close the education gap, give them a hot meal, and provide a safe place to go while schools are closed and their parents need to go to work.
