About Me:
My name is Link and I am 4 years young! I am a Cancer and my love language is quality time. I may have hole in my heart but my heart is whole for you!
My interests include (but are not limited to):
- Bird and squirrel watching
- Waking up my mother in the middle of the night to:
- watch me jump up to eat my food
- watch me jump up into the sink
- give me pets
- play fetch (yes, I taught myself how to play fetch)
- Bullying my dog brother, Alfie
- Pretending to be nonchalant then brushing up against you lovingly when you least expect it
- Blend into the darkness then appear out of nowhere and give you a scare
- Make you believe I slipped outside by not showing face for hours on end just to have been under someone's bed the whole time
- Dipping my dirty paws in your fresh cup of water
- Rolling over on my back to show off my pearly whites :)
- Laying in a pile of freshly laundered clothes my mom is trying to put away
- Just generally getting in the way
My level 5 murmur heart beats 100 miles per hour - and it could be for you!
A note from Paige (my mother):
I adopted Link at the beginning of 2023 - although we've only had each other for three years, it feels like it's been a lifetime. I wholeheartedly believe Link and I are intertwined - he is quite literally me if I was a cat: he's shy at first but opens up to those he trusts, prefers quality time over physical touch, is relatively quiet until he feels passionate about something, and of course, prefers a fish-based diet. At his first vet appointment, I learned he had a pretty serious heart murmur; upon taking him to the cardiologist, we found that he has atrial septal defect. I cried and cried when I heard this - I thought it was so unfair that this sweet boy that just came into my life would only be here for a short amount of time. Fortunately, Link's prognosis has been promising so far and the fact that his heart beats at 100 miles per hour does not hinder his life, except for maybe getting tired quicker than the average cat. Although I constantly worry about the fate of my boy, he has taught me to appreciate the time we have together. Link has taught me about responsibility, finances (how to save up for an echocardiogram), and how to love like a mother. If Link could understand Engligh, I'd simply tell him thank you for being you and thank you for being mine.
Please consider donating, not just for Link, but for the animals that are still looking for loving homes.
