Thousand Waves is an amazing community of people committed to preventing violence in ourselves, in our relationships, in our communities, and in the world. In this place, I find help in grappling with subtle forms of violence, with systemic violence in the world we inhabit, and with my own capacity for violence toward myself and others.

At Thousand Waves, I have learned to set boundaries, to say a clear "yes" and a clear "no," to smile at strangers, and to engage the world with an open heart, an inquisitive mind, and a strong spirit. I am fundraising to support this community, to keep it strong and vibrant, and so that others may have opportunity to learn all that I am learning here.
