North Carolina's food insecurity rate is 14.6%, meaning over 1.5 million North Carolinians are food insecure. The Second Harvest Food Bank strives to bridge the food insecurity gap by bringing healthy, affordable food to those in need in our community.
To achieve this, the Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC coordinates and distributes to 18 counties from Boone to Burlington, NC. Additionally, The Second Harvest Food Bank partners with communities to provide education on the causes of hunger and how to eliminate it.
