It's that time of year again when my son and I will be hiking to the summit of Mount Washington on July 19, 2026, to raise money for the Mount Washington Observatory in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Last year we raised just over $1300.00 for the Observatory, so this year we have a goal of raising $200 more, or $1500.00, and we do not have a long time to do it. For all you military meteorological technicians, past and present, and all those meteorological officers, past and present, please donate. Your donations help future military officers and enlisted personnel learn high summits forecasting and observing from the observatory. This year, we will also have a mascot join us on the hike. Her name is Tennessee Whiskey, and she is our Australian Shepherd.
