I am sleeping out to end youth homelessness

As you know, my wife Sonya works at Huckleberry House. You also know that the most important work she and I do together is raising our sons Maxwell and Garrett. So, when she tells me about the young people in Huckleberry House programs, it is often hard to believe any young person is going through life without the support of parents or without basic needs being met.

It can get depressing to hear about these kids. But there is also a lot of hope in the work that Huckleberry House does. They have a teen crisis shelter, an outreach team, therapists, and 45 apartments  for young people who have been homeless and are now preparing to live independently in market housing.

I believe in the work they do at Huck House, so I am joining 80 people who will sleep outside (rain or shine, warm or cold) on April 12 to raise awareness of the 2,000 youth who slept outside in Columbus last year.

I slept out last year - you can see me in the video below at the 2:30 mark.
