Join us for the 2020 Chicago Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 1st. It is the 20th Annviersary for Special Olympics, and the 4th Anniversary for Team Bennotbenny.
As you may know, my son Ben is a long time participant in the Special Olympics. While he has not recaptured the magic from his 2013 state championship in the 50 meter dash, he participates in soccer, basketball and track at OPRF. Indeed, this year’s basketball team is headed downstate for the state tournament on March 14 after a bid regional win this weekend.
Take the challenge and jump in Lake Michigan for Special Olympics Chicago! All are welcome to join us, whether you go knee deep, waist high, or take the full plunge.
As special inducement, the Duffy’s will be hosting pre-plunge breakfast, the executive committee of the Zubaz league is working diligently to finalize the post plunge bus trip to return home. While donations are appreciated, what we really need is more team plungers. Indeed, we need at least 20 to make the bus work, so join us!
Be #FREEZINFORAREASON and support the 7,500+ special olympians who compete year-round in the city of Chicago. All funds raised will benefit the Special Olympics Chicago athletes, covering program costs such as transportation, sports equipment, team uniforms and food. Through your participation, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities and success.
See you Sunday, March 1, 2020!
