I started volunteering with Sportable back in 2015. The same year I started running, finishing my first 5k, 10k and half marathon all in 2015. I've seen how becoming a runner and active in the Richmond running community has transformed my life for the better. Sportable creates opportunities for athletes of all abilities to have fulfilling experiences through sport, taking down barriers that could otherwise limit them (access to adaptive equipment, gym space, etc), all while building an unrivaled sense of family and community among athletes, staff, volunteers, and supporters. 

This year is Sportable's 15th Anniversary of it's founding. As a Birthday present to Sportable, my goal is to raise at least $1000 to help Sportable continue their missions of 'Creating Opportunities' and 'Transforming Lives.' I pledge to donate $1 for every mile I run for the month leading up to the Tailgate event on September 19th (with an announcement to come soon on a special run I plan to do that day).
