11:30am: Opening Remarks by Christine Haythorn, CEO
 
12:00pm: Warm up to music and then the walk begins
• Parkinson’s exercise professionals, will lead the walk
• There will be 4 exercise stations at each corner of the walking route:

  • Adaptive Yoga by NeuroAxis Rehab
  • Dance for PD by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre
  • Exercises for Longevity and Balance by Sterling Yoga & Wellness Center
  • PWR!Moves (Parkinson Wellness Recovery) & Rock Steady Boxing by To Life! Therapy & Wellness

12:30-1:00pm: Lunch is served and the Vendor Village is open (all day)
During lunch, Diane Balcom discusses advocacy efforts (paraquat) and
introduces legislators
 
1:00-1:30pm: Line Dancing with Hope Anthony
 
1:30pm: Raffle sales conclude
 
1:30-2:00pm: Winners of the 50/50 and basket raffles will be announced.

LINE DANCING

New this year at Step Forward is live line dancing!  No prior experience needed.  Just willingness to have a good time. This 16-count accessible routine and structured 30-minute schedule are tailored for large groups and participants with varying mobility levels.

| 1:00 – 1:05 PM | Warm-Up & Welcome | Gentle rhythm marching, shoulder rolls, side
sways. Remind seated participants to join from their chairs.
| 1:05 – 1:15 PM | Teach "Step Forward" | Demonstrate counts 1–16 step-by-step
without music. Repeat twice using call-and-response cues before adding song.
| 1:15 – 1:22 PM | Routine Dance-Through | Dance through 3–4 wall rotations.
| 1:22 – 1:30 PM | Social Dance Finale | Transition directly into crowd-favorite social
dances that require minimal teaching: ex. Cupid Shuffle followed by The Electric Slide

ABOUT THE LINE DANCING INSTRUCTOR

HOPE ANTHONY

Hope Anthony (she/they) is a multidisciplinary performer, audio describer, and teaching artist hailing from Ingram, PA. A graduate of Montour High School and Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, Hope is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, represented by The Talent Group Agency.

Theatre/Dance credits include Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Public Theater, The Pittsburgh Opera, City Theatre, Front Porch Theatricals, Attack Theatre, barebones blackbox, PICT, Pittsburgh Playwrights, Primestage, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, Little Lake Theatre, The Strand, McKeesport Little Theater, 12 Peers, New Horizons, Off The Wall, and The Mendelssohn Choir.
