This year, I’m thrilled and honored to co-chair and participate in Step Up for Down Syndrome, a fundraiser supporting the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland (DSAmd)—a cause that my parents and I truly stand behind and one that has personally impacted our lives.

When I was born and my parents learned that I had Down syndrome, they were understandably overwhelmed. As first-time parents, they were navigating not only the excitement and uncertainty of a new baby, but also the medical complexities that can accompany a Down syndrome diagnosis.

That’s where DSAmd stepped in. They reached out with compassion, optimism, and resources, helping my parents navigate those early days and reminding them that they weren’t alone.

Today, I’m incredibly proud to give back to an organization that was there for my family when we needed it most. I’m excited to help raise awareness, support families, and celebrate the incredible Down syndrome community.
