Gotta Have Faith Marathon Team
I'm raising money for DSAmd!
As part of my personal goal to run a marathon every ten years, I will be running the Baltimore Marathon on Saturday, October 17. (This sounded like a better idea ten years ago.) This time around, I will be running to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness month, advocate for our Down Syndrome community, and raise money for an organization that is near and dear to our family’s heart: the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland (DSAmd).
DSAmd’s mission is to empower individuals with Down syndrome, and their families, through advocacy, programming (like boxing and improv), education, and community-building. As just one example of the awesome and important work that DSAmd does, when new parents first learn about their child’s Down Syndrome diagnosis, DSAmd provides those families information and resources (and a big “congratulations”), and connects them with parent mentors and other support systems who “get it.”
Thanks so much for your support. And go Team Gotta Have Faith!
