For the past seven years, Storybook Farm has been a special part of our daughter Maggie Jane’s life. For the past two years, she has had the privilege of riding a very special horse named Boo Radley. When Maggie first began her journey at Storybook, anxiety often made it difficult for her to feel confident in herself. Over the years, we have watched her grow in ways we never could have imagined. Through her time with the animals and the support of the amazing people at Storybook, Maggie has learned to face her fears, overcome challenges, and believe in herself. Boo has become so much more than a horse to Maggie. He is her partner, her teacher, and a calm and steady presence she can count on. Through her work with him, she has reached personal goals, gained confidence, and learned that she is capable of doing hard things. That is what makes Storybook Farm so special. The animals are not simply there for children to ride. They become trusted partners who help children build confidence, responsibility, patience, and resilience. Caring for these amazing animals is an important part of making this possible. They need food, veterinary care, farrier care, shelter, and daily attention.
