Strength for Sandy Fundraising Page
ETA: We reached our initial goal of $1,000 after only a few short days! Thank you SO much to everyone who helped us reach that goal. With so much time left to raise money, we decided to raise our goal to $2,000. Let's see what we can do!
Hi guys! As most of you know, my mom passed away on October 12, 2012 from a rare, neurodegenerative disease caleld Cretzfeld-Jakob Disease. My brother, Josh Brunkhorst, and I are raising money for the annual Strides for CJD Walk. The event is taking place this year in St. Louis on October 9, just 3 days shy of the 10 year mark. We would like to raise $1,000 by August 14th, but we need your help! By raising $1,000, mom's name will be put on the shirt everyone wil receive when registering to walk!
Thank you so much in advance for your gracious donations! We couldn't do it without you!

About Strides for CJD
Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Funds raised support our programs including:
- Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
- Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
- Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
