Please register to walk with us and/or donate to support the CJD Foundation, in memory of Katie and others who have been lost to CJD, as well as those facing CJD currently. 

Your contributions will help the CJD Foundation continue to provide research funding to scientists and medical professionals working on projects involving CJD and prion disease, with the goal of finding treatments and hopefully a cure.  In the last several years alone, there have been significant advancements in diagnostics and the overall understanding of CJD, so while CJD is still a fatal condition, with no known treatments or a cure, there has been progress, generating positive momentum for the future.

Further, your support will allow the CJD Foundation, a Charity Navigator 4 star (out of 4) rated 501(c)(3) organization, to continue to provide informational, educational and emotional support to families facing CJD and those encountering CJD generally.

Our team name this year comes from the new children's book, "Wondering Around" by Meg Fleming.  Meg was a dear friend and close writing confidante of Katie's.  It was Meg who stepped up and, along with Katie's editor, publisher and illustrator, ensured that Hurry Up made it to publication after Katie's CJD diagnosis.  Meg dedicated "Wondering Around" to Katie, noting that Katie inspired her to write it in the Summer of 2018, as Meg sought to do something positive during a difficult time.  Meg completed her manuscript and was able to share it with Katie by video prior to Katie's passing.  Thus, we are excited to make "Wondering Around" our rallying cry for this year's Strides for CJD effort, our 4th year participating.
