We are participating in a fundraiser to help benefit the CJD Foundation, an organization that represents a cause very important to us. Please consider supporting us in our efforts for this worthy cause by raising money for CJD Research. It is our hope that some day there will be a treatment or cure for this horrible disease.

Karen had touched all our lives in so many ways and had been such a blessing to all of us, especially her family and close friends who love her and miss her so very much.

Everyone who knew her felt her kind, fun, caring nature, warm heart, generosity, enthusiasm and love of life.

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
