Our beautiful mother Rose walked this earth with beauty and kindness. Rosie, the 6th daughter of Italian immigrants, married John Kowalski and they were married for over 50 wonderful years, each and everyday they modeled what love is for our family. They raised 6 rambunctious children whose lives are a reflection of their love and her legacy. We loved and laughed a lot in our family, and still do. Rose was blessed with 8 grandchildren that experienced the best Grandma K who protected them with fierce and unconditional love. Rose was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many and her beautiful smile and laughter lit up a room. Rose is deeply missed but we know she is watching over us and guiding us as we finish our time on this earth.
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
To say that this disease is horrible is an understatement. Seven years ago we watched CJD quickly rob Rose and our family of her beautiful life. The questions of how can this happen and why, consumed us everyday as we watched her slip away. Caring for our mom with love was a priority, and we did that, but it did not lessen the fact that we were helpless in saving her because the outcome was inevitable.
We can change that outcome with research and understanding of the causes and cure for CJD. Although CJD research has increased over the past few years, awareness is minimal and there is so much more to know about the treatment and irradiation of this rare disease. We all know the pain and suffering that CJD brings to the families and friends of those devastated who are forever changed by this disease. In honor of Rose we will continue to fight CJD so that others do not have to suffer. BLESSINGS
