On December 24, 2024, my world changed forever.

My mom, Rita, passed away from complications of a brain aneurysm. In an instant, our family lost an incredible mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the heart of our family—the one who made everyone feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love continue to inspire me every day.

Grief has taught me that love doesn’t end when someone is gone. It lives on in our memories, in the stories we tell, and in the lives we choose to touch in their honor.

That is why I am sharing her story and supporting The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF). My hope is that by raising awareness and supporting research, we can help prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak that ours has endured. If sharing my mom’s story encourages even one person to recognize the warning signs, seek medical attention, or support research that leads to better outcomes, then her legacy will continue to make a difference.
