Every day, survivors, caregivers, clinicians, volunteers, donors, and supporters help others find their way through some of life's most difficult moments. TAAF calls these individuals Lighthouse Keepers.

Surviving an AVM stroke changed my life forever, but it did not define me. Since then, I’ve worked incredibly hard to rebuild, recover, and create a life I’m proud of.

What I’ve accomplished since my stroke is something I never take for granted. I’ve faced challenges that once seemed impossible, pushed through setbacks, and continued moving forward when it would have been easy to give up. My journey has taught me just how strong and resilient I truly am.

My stroke may be part of my story, but it has never held me back. I’m proof that even after life changes in an instant, you can keep fighting, keep growing, and accomplish more than you ever imagined.
