Meet Roger!

Roger Luk.jpeg

Join me in the First Annual White Cane Walk for the Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision to raise funds for our Job Placement program. Meet Roger Luk, Roger is one of many candidates that gained employment through the Lighthouse Supported Employment service. Roger relocated to Tampa with his family in 2014. With the Lighthouse’s training and services, Roger is happily employed at MacDill AFB as a food court custodian. By donating today, you can help fund Lighthouse Job Placement Program. We provide services and training for individuals with vision impairments and other disabilities to help them obtain and maintain employment in the local community. Each individual has an Employment Specialist who provides them ongoing support and intensive hands-on training at their job site to ensure they master their essential duties and are successful at their job. Funds raised through the White Cane Walk will help the Lighthouse continue to provide services and blindness-specific training for our blind or low vision clients, from infants through seniors, to help them become independent. You too can help the Lighthouse’s clients achieve independence in their lives, at work, at home, and with their mobility so that they can be successful in their local community. Please join the DREAM TEAM, to help us meet our $1000 goal. You can register to become a walker, start a team, collaborate with a sponsorship, or make a donation. Be sure to save the date and walk with us on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022!
