I am pleased to report that I completed my teaching assignment on January 19th and 20th. I was lucky to work with Ms. Zaila at North Miami Senior High, and her two classes of 11th and 12th grade IB Baccalaureate Biology students. I taught a lesson in financial literacy, specifically how to estimate the total cost of post-secondary education, and different ways to pay for it. The first day I had 12 students and the second I had 22. There was a high degree of engagement, and many good questions came from the classes. Given current protocols, I did 'virtual' teaching whereby I was on Zoom, and they were all physically present in the classroom. That added a wrinkle versus prior times when I was in the classroom with the students. But we made it work! I've included a picture from each day below.
