In February 2023, the CDC released the latest YRBS report. This showed alarming data on the mental health emergency our children are facing. See the full data here: https://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/data/yrbs/pdf/YRBS_Data-Summary-Trends_Report2023_508.pdf There is good news. For the first time, the CDC also included questions to measure the protective factor of school connectedness, and found that it had a long-lasting protective effect on students' mental health. Erika’s Lighthouse programs promote school connectedness by creating an inclusive school culture around mental health. Our evidence-informed programs give everyone in the school community - educators, students, and families - the knowledge and resources they need to support students' mental health.

Support My Fundraising Efforts

Hello, I am running the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to raise money for Erika's Lighthouse and to raise awareness and educate teens about mental health. This will be my first marathon and I could not be more excited to run with Team Resilience for a cause so near and dear to my heart. Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
