Support me as I challenge myself to raise awareness and educate teens about depression and cross the finish line in October. I can trace my first experience with anxiety and depression back to early high school, when mental health was much less of a priority. Being able to fundraise for Erika’s Lighthouse means creating opportunities for youth today having resources to better navigate feelings of anxiety + depression than I did. I am also fundraising for this amazing cause because of the high rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide experienced by LGBTQ+ youth. The 2022 National Survey of LGBTQ Youth Mental Health from The Trevor Project notes: 58% experienced symptoms of depression and 48% seriously considered suicide within the past year. With your help we can provide life saving resources to countless students across the country.

Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
