Samantha Harding's Fundraising Page for Team Resilience!

Hello!

Welcome to my fundraising page for Team Resilience in support of depression awareness with Erika’s Lighthouse. On October 8th 2023, I will be running my FIRST ever marathon during the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This is something I have always wanted to do after being inspired by family and friends who have completed similar journeys to 26.2. Running has always been a passion of mine, but getting to do it in support of mental health awareness has been an incredibly impactful journey. I will be running as a charity athlete for Team Resilience in support of a cause that has always hit close to home. Mental health and depression have been difficult topics that have circulated my life and community for many years. Whether it be facing difficult mental health struggles of my own or feeling it’s impact from those around me, I have experienced first-hand how the stigma around mental health conversation has negatively impacted our community. Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. Their dedication to creating a community of empathy and education is evident in the teen depression awareness programs they create in middle schools and high schools all over the world. I am so excited to be a member of this team, running for an organization who is positively impacting the discussion of depression and mental health in our community and future generations.
