Help me raise awareness and provide resources for adolescent depression with Erika's Lighthouse!
Please support me as I raise awareness and educate teens about depression! Erika's Lighthouse was founded in 2004 and today has reached over 2 million teenagers across the globe. The Chicago-based organization impacts thousands of teens each year, educating them about mental health and providing them with valuable resources. This cause is also very close to my heart, as I just completed my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will begin my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology this fall, to one day become a resource for these individuals myself. Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. They use a unique four-pillar approach designed to help schools create an inclusive school culture around mental health by empowering students, educators, and families; this program encompasses classroom educaton, teen empowerments, faily engagement and school policy and staff development. In February 2023, the CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey published alarming data: 42% of surveyed students reported persistent feelings of sadness of hopelessness, 22% seriously considered attempting suicide, and 10% attempted suicide. Help us help them.
