Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm honored to serve as the president of the governing board of Snow City Arts. My involvement in SCA started because I was once a music teacher. I had all these great kids; there's nothing more difficult than watching one of your kids get sick: they are in such a powerless position, and the hospital room can be a very lonesome, very chaotic, and very stressful place.

Snow City Arts has professional teaching artists stationed within five Chicagoland hospitals, and their task is transformation: they transform patients into painters... into sketch artists... into photographers... into filmmakers... into poets and novelists and playwrights... into musicians. We transform hospital rooms into art studios, and in doing so, we create a space where a child can simply be a child.

Your donation will help us to provide this invaluable service to some of the most vulnerable of our populace: sick kids. Over the past year we have inspired and educated more than 1,200 children and youth; won't you help us reach one more?
