Hey Friends! On November 4th I’ll be running in the Hot Chocolate race in support of a cause near and dear to my heart – Snow City Arts. Snow City Arts provides arts education workshops for hospitalized children in 4 local hospitals and serve approximately 1,200 kids annually.

Making art with a Snow City Arts teaching artist is an interesting, creative, engaging break from the reality of being ill and in the hospital. Snow City Arts’ teaching artists offer lets students choose to paint, draw, make music or a film, write poetry or a play.

The arts have always been an important part of my life – from seeing the Nutcracker with my family at Christmas and being enthralled by live performance to graduating with a Fine Arts degree in photography – exposure to the arts and access to creative outlets have made me into the person I am today. I support Snow City Arts because it provides some of these same artistic experiences to youth in Chicago that otherwise wouldn’t have them.
