It's hard to describe the impact that the Snow City Arts teaching artists have on their students, pediatric patients who are in the hospital for a variety of reasons.

"“When you go to the hospital as often as Savannah, does, she gets excited to do an art project or play an instrument instead of watching TV”, says Tammy, Savannah’s mother. “She has gotten to experience different activities that she may not have been exposed to before. She gets to pursue her passion and it makes her happy and proud of herself. Savannah has gotten to know all of her instructors very well and looks forward to seeing their smiling, friendly faces.”"

They might be in the hospital for years due to a chronic illness or they might be in the hospital for two weeks due to an emergency procedure. These children are missing school and also critical experiences that form a child's mind. The Snow City Arts program fills multiple needs for these children. Our teaching artists design and adapt art projects to work with students of all physical and cognitive abilities, providing them the opportunity to be a child, to forget why they are in the hospital, and to learn through art making (yea STEAM!).
