I am excited (and a little shocked) that this is my 3rd year in a row to run a 5K. As I say each year, I do not enjoy running in the slightest - so you know there has to be a good reason behind it. 

My "why" is to support the powerful mission of Snow City Arts. Snow City Arts inspires and educates children and youth in hospitals through the arts. Teaching artists provide one-on-one instruction in visual arts, creative writing, music, theater and media arts to young patients in Chicago hospitals. This work truly transforms hospital rooms into art studios. The patients, who often are having all of their decisions made for them by adults, are able to decide what they want to create. Children and youth are also able to get credit for the work they do so they don't fall too far behind in school.

It's a mission that inspires me and I hope you will join me in supporting Snow City Arts and the 1,200 children and youth they reach each year.
