Snow City Arts inspires and educates children and youth in hospitals through the arts. They provides one-on-one instruction in the visual arts, creative writing, music, theater and media arts to patients at Chicagoland hospitals. Their teaching artists typically work with an individual child at his or her bedside and address developmental and educational needs through the arts. Teaching artists empower children who are in an environment where they can make almost no decisions for themselves.
This is my third year supporting Snow City Arts by joining and fundraising though the race team. When Noemi Garcia recruited me to the team it was the first time that I had ever run a race. I typically don’t train for these either and am sore AF after but we always have a great time. It reminds me how fun it is to do something active with friends.
