Why I’m Participating

My reason for being part of the Sky Movement is Sheila Sky Kasselman, the founder of Sky Foundation.

Sheila was a force. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she started Sky Foundation from her living room just weeks after surgery. She was determined to turn her diagnosis into action—bringing people together, raising awareness, and funding research that could change the future of this disease.

I had the privilege of working closely with Sheila for six years. Her passion, determination, and belief that progress was possible left a lasting impact on me. Continuing the mission she started is incredibly meaningful, and I’m proud to carry that work forward today.

Why Sky Foundation

Sky Foundation funds innovative pancreatic cancer research through seed grants, helping scientists pursue bold ideas that can lead to earlier detection, better treatments, and ultimately a cure.

These early investments often help researchers generate the data needed to secure millions in national research funding, accelerating progress in ways that would not be possible otherwise.
