Teaneck Packathon for Haiti 2016

On Saturday, November 12, I plan to join hundreds of volunteers at the Teaneck Packathon to pack 100,000 school lunches for children in Haiti.

These children are students in the LIght and Peace Schools in Trois Mares and Chapottin, way out in the mountains of Haiti. Without school lunches, many of them cannot count on getting even one meal a day. But with lunches, students are progressing further in school and more kids are coming!

We plan to provide a reliable, nutritious, daily lunch program all year for the 450 children in the two schools that we support.

It will take a lot of food--almost 10 tons of rice, beans, vegetables and healthy vitamins. In addition to packing, I want to raise money to buy these ingredients.

We need to raise $53,000 for:

Lunches for 450 students 5 days a week, 12 months a year;
Classroom for Grade 6 so they can meet indoors in all weather;

Of the total, I am making it my personal goal to raise $1000.
