Teaneck Packathon for Haiti is the active, family-oriented, educational event where people of all generations, ethnicities, religions, and skill levels work together for two hours to help school children in Haiti. You can join the packing at the Grace Lutheran Church gym in Teaneck to label, measure, weigh, count, box, carry, and pallet up 7 tons of food to ship to the Light and Peace Schools way out in the mountains of Chapottin and Trois Mares.
Since this event started 3 years ago, students are succeeding like never before! When schools provide lunch, attendance improves. When attendance improves, more children learn to read. Once people can read and do simple math, they can learn anything and make smart plans. They bring themselves up! Lets keep those lunches coming through 2017 enabling and protecting students who cannot count on even one meal a day at home.
Teaneck Packathon for Haiti needs your help to fund:
- Lunches for 450 Haitian children 5 days a week, 12 months a year;
- Classroom for Grade 6 in Trois Mares.
