We are working to hard to improve the lives of students in Haiti. Some of the kids at the Light and Peace Schools in Trois Mares and Chapottin cannot count on even one meal at home every day, so we're packing school lunches for them!
We're raising money to support Teaneck Packathon for Haiti on November 12, where our team will join other volunteers in Grace Church's gym to pack nearly 7 tons of rice, beans, vegetables and vitamins into 100,000 meals to be shipped to the schools.
In addition to hands-on packing, we're helping to raise $53,000 to cover the costs of:
- Lunches for 450 kids to eat all through 2017, even during the summer.
- New classroom, so Grade 6 can meet indoors, in all kinds of weather;
Our club has worked this event before. We have a great time packing and it's awesome to learn how we're making a difference each year. The Chapottin school's enrollment more than doubled last year. The Trois Mares school held its first graduation ever!
