Since 2013, the Charles House Association and the UNC Division of Geriatric Medicine have been sponsoring a Caregiver’s Support Group that meets the third Wednesday of each month, from 12:00-1:30PM. (Pre-Pandemic we met at the UNC Wellness Center; now we meet virtually on ZOOM.) Charles House Executive Director Dean Fox and Susan Chesser, RN, former Health Educator at UNC Wellness Centers, are co-facilitating the group, which provides an opportunity for caregivers to exchange information, talk about the challenges of being a caregiver, and provide support and encouragement to one another.

Over the past year, Dementia Alliance of North Carolina has served over 14,000 people living with dementia and their caregivers (including the UNC/Charles House Caregiver's Support Group!) with the care and support they need to navigate a dementia diagnosis through our education, navigation and support programs.
