The Vero Beach Rowing Team is everything to me. I get to row with some of my best friends for six days a week while also rowing on the beautiful Indian River. While doing this, I also get to make some new memories to last a lifetime.
I am reaching out to friends and family to raise money the Club's Youth Rowing Program. All of the donations will lead to us getting new equipment (Boats and Oars) and will allow the travel expenses and team dues to be lower.
To show how committed I am to this sport, I am participating in two back-to-back rowing challenges! On October 27th from 12:00 Noon to October 28th at 12:00 Noon, the entire Youth Rowing Team will be locked into the Orchid Island Crossfit gym and we will row on ergs (indoor rowing machines) for 24 straight hours! This is our team's 2018 Ergathon - 24 Hours for 24K! The very next weekend I will be taking part in a joint exercise with US Navy Seals! The youth rowing team will be divided into four teams to complete a 22,000 meter erg relay, a run through the Navy Seal obstacle course (led by two active Navy Seals!), and then the Muster 5K. Our coaches call this event the "Bear Cage".
In return for your support, I will be giving you my blood, sweat and tears! I'll keep going because of the committment I'm making to the club, my teammates, myself, and you!
Thank you for any and all support you can contribute!
