I would like to talk about how much rowing has impacted me in the last several years.  Although it started out as something I dreaded and felt forced into, it turned out to be the most life-changing event in my life.  Regardless of how I feel, I always have rowing to rely on.  Whether I am mad at someone or something, feeling emotional, or almost anything is wrong, all I have to do is go to practice, get in the boat, and put myself through intense physical pain. It is really just a release from all the negatives in life.  Rowing is something I truly enjoy and in which I naturally excel.  Aside from the physical stamina which rowing improves, one’s mental strength is also improved.  It absolutely sets you up for a life of a disciplined mind.

But it is only possible because of people like you, people who can see the impact it has on my life and people like me.  If you want to help make that impact but are not sure how --- you can donate.  I don’t want you to feel obligated to donate, but before you decide hear what we have going on over the next month.

On October 28, we have the 2018 Ergathon – 24Hours for 24K.  An erg is an indoor rowing machine and our team will be locked in a gym and take turns rowing for 24 straight hours in order to raise $24,000 by November 3rd.  The following week we will be participating in an event our coaches call the “BearCage” where aside from rowing, we will be taking part in a joint exercise with active duty Navy Seals.

Four of my teammates and I have been selected to race in the largest rowing event in the world called the “Head of the Charles” in Boston next week.  It is very big and very exciting.  I would like you to be a part of it by donating any amount with which you would be comfortable.   Please know that if you decide to donate, it means a lot and will be greatly appreciated.  If not, thank you for reading this far and I hope you learned a little something about the world of rowing.
